Samsung Galaxy, announced this spring, has been tested FCC and will be available in the U.S. market by the end of this year. Samsung I7500 Galaxy – one of the three smartphones running Google Android, planned to release T-Mobile this year.

Note: In order to disable the keypad tone, the Dialing Display Font Type must first be set to “Normal”

To change the dialing display font type follow the steps below:

Select Settings (9)
Select Display Settings (3)

Select Font Type (1)
Highlight either Normal or Theme, using the navigation keys

Patent battle: Samsung loses $7.3 million in China

China-based Holley Communication has won a battle against Samsung Electronics over dual-mode cell phone patents, resulting in a payout of US $7.3 million.

Holley Communications said that Samsung violates its patents, which protect dual-mode cell phone technology. That technology allows a single phone to work on both CDMA and GSM networks. The suit was filed in China in The Intermediate People’s Court of Hangzhou, capital district of Zhejiang. The $7.3 million-payment is a record for the Chinese mobile cell phone industry.

More than 700k cellphones have been sold by Samsung that contain the infringing technology, and the product is still on sale in most markets. Holley officials stated that this pay-out is only the first piece of compensation they would be seeking.
